Eric's Fish + Chips
Day 1
Start with lunch at Eric's, where a modern take on the classic seaside chippy can be enjoyed inside, outdoors or as a picnic among the orchards. For something a little different, try Eric's indulgent deep-fried jam sandwich, crisp and golden on the outside with a warm, sweet centre.
The White Horse
Continue along the coast to Brancaster Staithe and The White Horse, where you can enjoy locally caught seafood overlooking the salt marshes. Look out for Brancaster mussels, landed locally and best enjoyed with the views across the marshes.
Holkham Estate
Check in at Holkham Estate and spend the afternoon exploring the parkland, nature reserve or beach before your first night on the trail. If you're visiting in autumn, listen out for the dramatic clash of antlers as Holkham's fallow bucks enter the rut.
Goat Shed
Day 2
Pick up the best of Norfolk's local produce at The Goat Shed, browsing the farm shop and meeting local producers before continuing towards the Broads. Don't miss Norfolk Mardler, the soft, fresh goat's cheese made just up the road.
Barnes Brinkcraft
Take to the water with a self-drive boat from Barnes Brinkcraft in Wroxham. Pack a picnic filled with local produce and spend some time exploring the Norfolk Broads at your own pace. It's a chance to slow down and see this distinctive landscape from the water.
Norwich
Finish the Norfolk leg of the trail in Norwich. Explore the Cathedral Quarter, wander along historic Elm Hill, browse Norwich Market and discover the independent shops, cafés and restaurants of the Norwich Lanes. Don't leave without sampling a little Colman's mustard, a Norwich institution since 1814.
Three Rivers Pitch & Paddle Sauna
Day 3
Relax into the Suffolk leg of the trail at Three Rivers Pitch & Paddle. Take some time in the wood-fired sauna before a refreshing dip or paddle along the River Waveney, surrounded by the peaceful landscapes of the southern Broads.
Fen Farm Dairy
Meet the makers behind Baron Bigod at Fen Farm Dairy and discover how this celebrated cheese is produced, from pasture and herd through to the finished wheel. Look out for Baron Bigod, a rich, earthy raw-milk cheese made using milk from grass-fed Montbéliarde cows.
Flint Vineyard
Continue through the Waveney Valley to Flint Vineyard, where you can walk through the vines, explore the winery and enjoy a seasonal tasting or food pairing overlooking the valley. Flint's Charmat sparkling wine is a particular highlight, made using the vineyard's pioneering tank-fermentation method.
Emmett's Smokehouse
Day 4
Continue towards Suffolk's coast with a stop at Emmett's Smokehouse in Peasenhall. Discover small-batch hams and bacon made using techniques passed down through three generations, including the famous Suffolk Black Ham, smoked over beechwood in the original smokehouses.
Snape Maltings
Spend some time at Snape Maltings, browsing independent shops, galleries and exhibitions before enjoying lunch overlooking the River Alde. One of Suffolk's best-loved cultural destinations, it's a chance to take a break from the road and soak up the atmosphere.
Pump Street Bakery
Stop at Pump Street Bakery for pastries, sourdough and bean-to-bar chocolate before exploring Orford's village streets and waterfront. You can also book classes to learn the craft of chocolate making, artisan baking and sourdough.
