Brancaster and Brancaster Staithe

Brancaster Staithe is a working harbour village in the Norfolk Coast National Landscape in England, 22 miles from King’s Lynn and 39 miles from Norwich.

Around the Staithe are saltmarshes and tidal creeks where fishermen grow plump mussels and oysters.

Next to the Staithe is Brancaster, which has a road to a large car park and immaculate sandy beach. At low tide you might see the wreckage of the SS Vina.

Look out for National Trust signs for the site of Branodunum, one of the Roman Saxon Shore forts at the end of the Peddar’s Way.

In Summer there are sailing regattas around Scolt Head Island National Nature Reserve.
