- Picnic and Day Boat Hire
Start your boat hire from Sutton Staithe, which is situated at the top of the River Ant. Explore the expanse of Barton Broad before choosing your destination, How Hill, Thurne, Ranworth and South Walsham Broad all within easy reach. There are plenty of choices on this quieter stretch of the river with beautiful scenery and plentiful wildlife to enjoy along the way.
Our environmentally friendly picnic boats will take parties of up to 8 and 12. Each Electric Picnic Boat is fitted with a gas hob, toilet and sink on board. Perfect for a self-contained day out with family or friends.
Choose from our environmentally friendly electric or traditional diesel day boats which will take parties of up to 6 and 8.
We will supply life jackets, full instructions, a map and some ideas where to explore.
Boat hire is available all year round.

Explore the magic of the Norfolk Broads and hire a Canadian Canoe or Kayak from Sutton Staithe Boatyard.
You can begin your Canoe and Kayak hire adventure by exploring the Sutton Broad RSPB Reserve. The river beyond leads to a choice of routes which take in the picturesque waters of Dilham, Barton Broad and Neatishead. No previous experience is required, and we can offer suggestions so that even the most novice of paddlers will enjoy their time on the water. An easy-to-follow waterproof map is provided to help you find your way.
Canoe and Kayak hire is the perfect way to quietly enjoy the Norfolk Broads whilst taking in the sights of the Broadland wildlife. If you are lucky, you may see Otters, Grebes, Swans, Herons, Coots, Moorhens, Cormorants and the strikingly blue Kingfisher.
Tuition, buoyancy aids, paddles/oars and dry bags are all included in the price

Short break & weekly hire prices available on request
A security deposit may be required for some parties
Hirer must be over 18 years old
Dogs welcome - we provide doggy lifejackets.
