Bungay
Bungay is a market town in the Waveney Valley in Suffolk, England, 15 miles from Norwich and 38 miles from Ipswich.
The town is famous in folklore for the legend of Black Shuck, a mythical dog that haunts the coast of Suffolk and Norfolk. It is said that on Sunday, August 4, 1577, St Mary’s Church was struck by lightning, and then a black hell hound dashed around the church, attacking members of the congregation.
The town has the remains of a Norman castle and impressive Buttercross in the market place.
