About Kessingland Beach

Overview

Kessingland Beach lies just south of Lowestoft on the Suffolk Coast. The shoreline is backed by low cliffs with village streets set above the beach.

The beach is a mix of sand and shingle, with more sand exposed at low tide. It extends for a considerable distance along the coastline and has an open, relatively quiet character compared with busier stretches of coast nearby.

Parking

There is limited dedicated beach parking. Parking is available on Church Road and surrounding streets, a short walk from the seafront.

Access

Access is via paths and slopes from the clifftop down to the beach. Surfaces vary between sand and shingle depending on tide.

Getting there

Kessingland is reached via the A12 south of Lowestoft.
