Potter Heigham
Potter Heigham is a picturesque village on the River Thurne in the Broads National Park in Norfolk, England. It is 19 mile east of Norwich and 12 miles north of Great Yarmouth.
Potter Heigham is a hub for boating in the Northern Broads and its most notable landmarks are the 1385 medieval bridge - under which a few boats have got stuck at high tide! – and the Church of St Nicholas.
Long distance Weaver’s Way passes through the village and nearby are Ludham-Potter Heigham and Heigham Holmes national nature reserves.
Heigham means ‘homestead’ and Potter was added as there is evidence here of Romano-British pottery.
