Martham

Martham is charming and picturesque village in Norfolk, England, within the Broads National Park. It is less than three miles from the coast, 10 miles north of Great Yarmouth and 18 miles east of Norwich.

There is a large village green, two duck ponds, Georgian houses and near St Mary’s Church Ferrygate Lane leads to Martham Ferry with an unusual floating swing bridge across the River Thurne to Heigham Holmes nature reserve.

140-acre Martham Broad nature reserve is a mile to the north of the village.

The village name is Anglo-Saxon for ‘the home of the polecats’.
