Loddon

Pretty Loddon is a riverside town in Norfolk, England, 12 miles south east of Norwich.

The town is on the River Chet, a tributary of the River Yare, within the Broads National Park, and has some lovely architecture, including the 15th century Holy Trinity church, 18th century Loddon House and Georgian Farthing Green House. The town centre is a designated conservation area.

The River Chet is one of the focal points for boating tourism in the Southern Broads and Loddon still has boatyards making an important contribution to the local economy.

The name Loddon is thought to come from Celtic meaning ‘muddy river’.
