Debenham

Set in lovely rolling countryside, Debenham is an unspoilt, peaceful village in Suffolk, England, 11 miles north of Ipswich and 32 mile south of Norwich.

The High Street has an eclectic mix of shops, including antiques and pottery outlets and the village centre is a conservation area.

The river Deben rises in the parish and reaches the sea at Felixstowe Ferry. The ford it runs through in the village is claimed to be the largest in the UK.

Prince Alexandre of Belgium was married in the village in 1991.

The name Debenham originates from old English meaning ‘the village in a deep valley’.
