Burnham Overy Staithe

Burnham Overy Staithe is a lovely waterside village in the Norfolk Coast National Landscape in England, 23 miles from King’s Lynn and 38 miles from Norwich.

On the River Burn, the village is nestled amongst creeks and saltmarsh and protected by Scolt Head Island National Nature Reserve. It was here that Horatio Nelson learned to sail. The Hero pub is named for him.

The lovely, unspoilt beach can be reached by a one mile walk, through a gap at Gun Hill.

If you’re parking and going to the beach remember the tides – many have been submerged.
