About Britten Weekend: Winterreise

Join Britten Pears Arts in welcoming one of classical music’s greatest song cycles in the Britten Studio.

Schubert’s deeply moving masterpiece is here performed by the dream team of mezzo-soprano Alice Coote and pianist Christian Blackshaw.

Exploring sorrow, longing and existential reflection, Schubert’s song cycle shows his mastery of transforming poetry into music, combining them into an art form of intense emotional resonance.
