About Britten Weekend: Timothy Ridout and James Baillieu – Schubert

Schubert’s hugely popular Arpeggione Sonata; poignant, charming and lyrical, plus Britten’s beautiful Lachrymae – variations upon music by John Dowland.

Also on the programme is Schubert’s charming Sonatina No.1, a piece that harks back to Mozart and which ends in unrestrained joy.

A chance to hear this programme performed live ahead of these outstanding artists recording the works in the new year.
