About Race and Retreat

A week of racing yachts on the Norfolk Broads with accommodation at How Hill Nature Reserve

Take part in Norfolk's most exciting hire fleet race week! Compete with your crew by day and relax in riverside accommodation by night.

Barton Regatta is Norfolks best known hire fleet regatta and has been running in October every year, for over 40 years. Based at the heart of the Norfolk Broads National Park you will experience the thrill of racing a yacht during the day and return to dormitory style accommodation at the beautiful How Hill Nature Reserve every evening.

This package includes five nights of dormitory style accommodation at How Hill, a hearty breakfast every morning, lunch on the pontoon in the middle of Barton Broad and all evening meals at How Hill. You will be part of a crew that enjoys competing in races up to 3 times a day.

Optional evening activities will include race briefings, after dinner speakers and a final night awards dinner with presentations and prizes galore!

NO EXPERIENCE NEEDED - we offer both skippered and self-sail packages. If you are new to sailing you will be allocated a skipper who will meet you each morning and race with you every day. There will be plenty of time to talk tactics and by the end of the week you will be sure to have caught the racing bug!

This is a race week fully of friendly competition and good humour. You do not have to be an experienced racer to take part as the emphasis is on having fun and light hearted competition. If you have always fancied racing a beautiful Norfolk yacht then this is your opportunity.
