About Heritage Open Day

Between 10am and 3pm, visit Theatre Royal Bury St Edmunds, the last remaining Regency playhouse in the country for a glimpse behind the scenes – stage, costume and props.

Theatre Royal Bury St Edmunds Theatre Royal invites you to step into the world of theatre and get a behind-the-scenes look at one of the most beautiful, intimate and historic theatres in the world. For this event exclusively we will have props, costume and memorabilia on display for you to view. Our Greene Room bar and courtyard garden will be open for you to enjoy hot and cold drinks, bar snacks and delicious local ice-cream. Over the years, Theatre Royal has welcomed Dame Judi Dench, Sir Ian McKellen, Sir Derek Jacobi to name just a few – we look forward to welcoming you too. No need to book a ticket, just arrive when you are ready!

This is an accessible, step-free visit for all ages. There will be Heritage Open Day Activity Packs available for young people. Find out more on the Heritage Open Days website here.
