About Lavenham Guildhall

The Guildhall is the ideal place to start your visit to this unique village. Once one of the richest towns in medieval England through the woollen cloth trade, Lavenham is now a cosy village with over 300 listed buildings. Originally the hall of the Guild of Corpus Christi, this remarkable building tells the story of the changing fortunes of Lavenham through displays and exhibitions. National Trust gift shop and tearooms serving home-made produce. 'A truly most absorbing building. It oozes history and magnifies the life and times of the past. Wonderful.' Mr Hawkes, Shefford.
